Election day! Don’t forget to vote!

It’s Election Day! Time to get your ballot in, either by mailing it before the last pickup today, or by delivering it to a ballot drop box before 8 p.m.

The nearest drop boxes to Beacon Hill are located downtown, at the King County Administration Building (500 4th Ave), and in the International District at the accessible voting center at Union Station (401 S. Jackson St.). Both are open until 8 p.m. There are no drop boxes in Southeast Seattle.

If you have lost or damaged your ballot, you can vote the old-style way in a voting booth at the accessible voting center, until 8 p.m. tonight. Bring your identification. There have been lines there for this in the past — in 2010, the wait was more than 3 hours during the evening hours. Get there early if you can. If you are in line at 8, you will get to vote.

  1. Does anyone know where a girl can watch the returns up here on the hill? Tippe and Drague? The Oak?

  2. As usual, a great advisory ,Wendy, as is all your blogs. However you may incur protests from some coming out of the woodwork to say even this isn’t relevant,LOL.

As to Heidi’s inquiry, Tippe and Drague told me they are having some sort of “election party” . Other than showing up, having a snack or beer, is all they mentioned. I’m sure it will be a crowded evening. It is a great gathering place, but not as much room as the Oak.

  3. Yes, Tippe and Drague will be showing the returns. I don’t know about the Oak — they don’t have tvs in the big room, just in the smaller bar, but they might have it on there, too.

  4. I’m planning on going to T&D, I just assumed they would be broadcasting. Thanks, Wendi, for the confirmation!

  5. Watching the returns at the Tipp and Drague last night was like watching the World Cup with a really awesome crowd. Every time another set of numbers rolled in, there was an unrestrained blaze of emotion from the room — cheers and whoops or howls and hisses, fists pounding on tables and chants of Four! More! Years! It was deafening and exciting and sweltering and packed wall to wall with friend and neighbors and complete strangers, and somebody got their elbow in my cider but neither of us cared. It was just that sort of night. 🙂

Glad we were there for it!
