Updated: Bye bye Buggy

Buggy, neighborhood baby outfitter and monthly knit-night host, is closing up shop on Beacon Avenue South and heading to new digs in Madrona, as confirmed on their soon-to-be-anachronistic website at www.buggybeacon.com.

Jon Gould dropped the news on the mailing list yesterday, noting that the 2200 square foot space will be available in June for $1300/mo.

This, along with the closing of Culinary Communion, is another sad departure from the hill just 81 days before the light rail station opening.

Buggy Knit Night tonight

Buggy is hosting their monthly Knit Night early due to Thanksgiving. It’s tonight, Friday, November 21st from 6:30 – 9:00 pm, $5 for project help. All knitters are welcome; though Buggy is a baby and kid store, you don’t have to be knitting kidwear.

Buggy’s also hosting a Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 7th from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. They promise “gifts for super heroes, dancers, animal lovers, cooks, babies, and more,” along with gift wrapping, refreshments, and a special gift with purchase.

Buggy is located at 3315 Beacon Avenue South.

Buggy, a Beacon Avenue retailer of baby stuff, is featured in the P-I today. Nice pictures! I knew they had knitting classes at Buggy, but I did not know they had yarn for sale there. I don’t have a baby to buy for, but I am a knitter, so I may have to check out the woolly merchandise.
