Neighbor Kasey writes with a plea for feline peace. Is this about your cat?
There’s a cat in our part of the neighborhood (19th and Stevens) that has shown aggression toward felines and humans alike. Not a night goes by without the terrifying sounds of a cat fight alerting all of the dogs on the block. This buff-colored, medium-haired cat is small to medium in size and ruthlessly stalks indoor/outdoor kitties. My own cat has been bullied by the predator for about the last four months and I can’t seem to get it to leave him or our yard alone. He or she has also fought with our housemates’ cat as well.
I wish I had more information to share, but I would really appreciate taking the chance that the cat’s owner isn’t aware of how mean it is to other animals. I don’t want to see it end up at the Seattle Animal Shelter, but that’s my next call.
Pull the stick out of your butt.
Hi,
Please do NOT call the animal shelter!!You don’t want it to suffer do you???
Just scare it away!
Apparently the bullying cat is named Captain Mew Mew and has internet access.
I saw a cat kicking a kid off a library computer the other day…
Thanks for your comments about this. I guess I should probably elaborate. If this cat were a canine, it would be considered a dangerous animal. I speak from experience, as I have a shelter background. It has bitten my own cat so badly that my cat has a serious abscess that required vet care. If this critter appeared to have any sort of a ‘nice’ side, I wouldn’t even consider calling animal control or trapping it. However, it has been vicious to my neighbors’ animals (dogs and cats). I am just hoping that its owner might recognize it and not even realize that it’s causing trouble. I know that there are one-human-loving, other-animal aggressive cats in the world.
It’s a shame that people can’t take this a bit more seriously. Thanks to Wendi for posting this, even if it to no avail.
