“Small dachshund mix spotted at Jefferson Park on 5/5/13 at about 9:00am. Dog was mostly black with a white neck and no collar. Was very skittish and took off toward the food forest when I tried to call it. Email asiancajunandy@gmail.com if you have any questions.”

Neighbor Bridge Joyce writes:

“A dog was found the evening of 1/29 on Atlantic, at the bottom of the stairs. It is a tall stature, male, probably 1-2 years old. He is friendly but skittish, and is probably a wolfdog mix of some sort. I’ve attached some photos. I’ll take it to the vet tomorrow to see if it’s chipped. If this is your dog, please contact me at bridgejoyce@gmail.com.”

We’ve had stories about lost and found cats, dogs, and chickens here on the Beacon Hill Blog. We’ve even run a story about a goat (who turned out to be a sheep). But today we have a first — a found parakeet.

Neighbor Barbara writes:

“[My partner] found a parakeet walking on the sidewalk at about 12th and Judkins on Sunday, January 27th, by the condo development right before the park/picnic area near the dog park by the Jose Rizal Bridge.

Attached is a flyer that our 8-year-old daughter put together, along with a photo. Can you post it on the blog?

I’m sure he or she is someone’s pet, that perhaps flew out the window!”

Found Black Male Dog Poodle Mix on Beacon Avenue South of the VA Hospital around noon today. He has a collar but no ID tags. Not chipped per our vet. Very sweet!! Please call 303-589-1468 (I am in Seattle.).

“Can you please put this photo up of this cat? A couple of us have seen it around 13th-14th Avenue South and Stevens. It’s super friendly, but has no collar. Just want to make sure it has a home.”

A gorgeous, large, wirehaired, black and tan, dog showed up in Benefit park this morning. No tags, just a large choke type collar and a heavy carabiner. I can be reached at 916-838-5849.

“Found this beautiful fixed male pit trying to get into our yard to play. South Beacon Hill. We had to take him to the Seattle Animal Shelter. They will hold him and can be contacted about him. He was super sweet.”
