The survey discusses El Quetzal, Victrola, and Kusina Filipina, and asks whether later closing times would increase the likelihood that each survey taker would patronize these businesses in the evening hours.
The survey has only three questions, so it’s short and quick. You can take it here.
Jake says the survey will be open for a week or so. Stay tuned for the results.

Here’s a video of part of Lushy’s performance at last year’s Piñata Party:
The Food Forest project will be located in a seven acre site along the west side of Jefferson Park, and will include edible perennial plants. Jacqueline Cramer of the Friends of the Beacon Food Forest describes the Forest this way: “Imagine a forest. Now substitute all these plants with fruit and nut trees, berry shrubs, fruiting vines, herbs, edible flowers, and vegetables. Now you’re thinking food forest.”
El Centro de la Raza is located at 2524 16th Ave. S. The design party will be held in the dining hall, on the lower level at the north end of the building.
Jefferson Community Center has been hosting a free Harry Potter movie marathon to prepare for this week’s opening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part Two. All are welcome, whether wizard or Muggle.

Beacon Hill International School is seeking a “working tile artist who explores global themes and enjoys working with children” for a 6-week project in late summer/early fall of this year, working with K-5 kids to create tiles for a mosaic mural.
The artist chosen will also bring the Beacon Hill community into the project, collaborating with neighbors to make tiles and complete the mural.
The installation will be an approximately 10’x7′ tile mosaic, to be installed on the wall of an exterior entryway. Additionally, some smaller areas at the school and a nearby park may also be included in the project. The stipend for the completed mural is $2,000. The application deadline is July 29.
